MedEd Clubs
In May, 2023, through support from Glenn 2 Greatness, Healthy Rural California, Inc. launched it’s first MedEd Club at Orland High school. Since that time, a second club as launched in Hamilton City, and more clubs are being planned throughout Glenn County.
MedEd Clubs offer students who harbor aspirations in the healthcare sector the opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals, nursing and medical students, residents and other allied healthcare professionals to gain a firsthand understanding of the various roles in healthcare.
Students are also presented information about financial aid and scholarships, professional and educational development, and participate in field trips and other activities that help to introduce them to the challenges and benefits of a career in healthcare.
Healthy Rural California plans to expand the MedEd Club program throughout the region in 2024. To learn more about how you can become involved, connect with Maya Teso, MedEd Club Coordinator, at mteso@healthyruralca.org.
