Regional Mental Health Task Force

Healthy Rural California and North Valley Community Foundation have partnered to launch a Northern California Regional Mental Health Task Force to evaluate and assess community mental health conditions, trends, and needs toward creating a deep understanding and actionable roadmap.

In February 2017, Oroville Dam’s main and emergency spillways were damaged, prompting the evacuation of more than 180,000 residents. Since then, the counties Butte and Glenn have lived with the stress and trauma of yearly disasters. In November 2018, our neighboring Town of Paradise and adjacent unincorporated areas were devastated by the deadly Camp Fire, which burned an area of 153,336 acres and destroyed nearly 19,000 structures. More fires further traumatized the community in 2019, and the worldwide pandemic has brought life to a halt ever since.
